HOW MUCH DO YOU REALLY WANT IT?

Dear Creative,

Let me share with you a quick story.

Hunter Jobbins, a college student, left his parked car from just a few minutes in front of the dorms.

When he returned, he noticed that a note had been placed inside the car. It read:

"Saw Kit Kat in your cup holder. I love Kit Kats so I checked your door and it was unlocked. Did not take anything other than the Kit Kat. I am sorry and hungry."

Morals aside, this story illustrates somebody that was so hungry, that they literally took what they wanted.

Are you taking what you want? The 'thief' above not only knew what they wanted but also knew how to get it.

Here's my thing with you lot. You complain A LOT, and yet you still do nothing. You are the sort of people that I would classify as merely peckish. You know that you want something, but you are not actually driven or bothered to go out there and get it.

This is the difference between “dreamers” and doers.

So, how can you become hungrier for success?

1. Take 10 minutes of quiet every day to ask, why do I want it? Your why is just as important as your what. No amount of education, experience or connections will carry you over life's setbacks. Only your why can.

2. Spend time with people who have what you want. This is such a simple, and yet effective way to gain exposure of what you want to do. John Rohn famously said, "you're an average of the five people you spend the most time with." Save time and money by learning from their mistakes now.

3. Make inaction incredibly painful. Humans like to avoid pain at all possible costs. So, if you can associate the idea of falling short with displeasure, then your subconscious will get to work producing the motivation that you really need to succeed.

4. Move your body. Go for a walk. Go to the gym. Go to a dance class. Just do something to get your body going. Thirty minutes of light activity gives you more energy by increasing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to your cells. Without energy, you can have no drive.

Apply these tips, and you'll have a new-found hunger for your success.

As I always say, talent isn't enough. It's all in the strategy.

Kind Regards,
